Studi Kasus: Pemberian Terapi Inhalasi Uap Minyak Eucalyptus terhadap Peningkatan Bersihan Jalan Napas pada Anak dengan ISPA
Abstract
Background: Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in infectious diseases worldwide. Ineffective airway clearance is a problem that is often experienced by patients with ARI. Eucalyptus oil inhalation therapy for children with ARI is a complementary therapy in the management of ineffective airway clearance.
Objective: To apply eucalyptus oil inhalation therapy to improve airway clearance in children with ARI.
Method: The method used in compiling this paper used a case study by applying interventions in accordance with evidence based in nursing.
Result: After carrying out nursing intervention namely eucalyptus oil inhalation therapy for 3 days of morning and afternoon therapy, the results showed that there was an increase in airway clearance namely improved breathing frequency and decreased sputum production.
Conclusion: There was an increase in airway clearance in both clients namely of improved breathing frequency and decreased sputum production after being given eucalyptus oil inhalation therapy.
